Application Process

What Happens Next?

Once your application is complete, it will be available for review by our hiring teams. To be considered for a position, ensure your application includes all required supporting documents, such as references and verification of previous employment.

Pro Tip: We encourage you to reach out to the Building Principal or hiring manager of the specific position to express your interest directly.

The Interview & Selection Process

Our Principals and Supervisors review all completed application packets, but only selected candidates will be contacted for an interview.

  • Interview Day: If selected, we recommend bringing a copy of your current resume and a list of professional references.

  • Selection Criteria: Selections are based on a comprehensive review of your experience, skills, qualifications, and professional references.

  • Recommendation: Upon completing the interview process, the Principal or Supervisor will submit a recommendation for hire to the District Office.

Professional References

To complete your application, you must provide at least three professional references.

  • Requirements: You will need to provide a valid email address and phone number for each.

  • Top Recommendation: We highly suggest that at least one reference be your current or most recent direct supervisor.

Notification of Intent to Hire

All employment offers are contingent upon:

  1. Approval by the Lamar County School District Board of Education and the Superintendent.

  2. A successful criminal background check.

  3. Completion of all prerequisite requirements for the specific role.

The Clearance Process: If you accept an offer, you will guided through scheduling your background check. Once cleared, your recommendation will be presented to the Board. Following Board approval, your employment contract will be issued based on your MDE certification status, the current LCSD salary scale, and verified years of experience.
