  • We would like to congratulate Faerron Lawrence for being chosen as the 1st place winner for the 2014 Voice of Democracy Audio-Essay Competition for VFW Post 3036.  She will now compete at the District level then on to the national level in hopes of winning a share of the $2.2 million in educational scholarships and incentives awarded through the VFW's Voice of Democracy audio-essay competition.

    Supervised powder-puff football practice will be Thursday from 3:30-5:00 on the football practice field.  The 2014 Sumrall High School Powder-puff game is Friday at 6:00 at the High School Football Field.  The Blue team (Austin Sellers) will play the Pink team (Drake Pace)  followed by the Green team (Dalton Sumrall) playing the Purple team (Jacob Phelps).  The winners will compete in the 2014 Sumrall High School Powder-puff Championship.  Come out and cheer on your favorite powder-puff team.  Pregame pool play will begin at 5:00 Blue vs Pink and Green vs Purple.  Players need to be at the field by 4:45.   

     Anyone interested in playing tennis that has not already seen Mrs. Grimsley, needs to go by her room today. Also, anyone who did not get both forms need to come by her room today, as well. All forms MUST be turned in by this Friday, November 21st.


    Printable resources are available online at http://parcc.pearson.com/tutorial/ for high school students taking the Math and English Language Arts paper-based and online assessments.  These tutorials provide a sample answer document, sample items, and tips for completing multiple-select, multiple choice items. Resources/Tutorials are located at the bottom of the screen. 



    Students wishing take a  Dual Enrollment course with PRCC must come by the Counseling office to pick up your application packet. You must go to the PRCC Poplarville campus to complete the enrollment.


    Mississippi Virtual Public School is currently accepting applications for online spring courses. Come by the counselor’s office for more information.


    Sumrall FFA T-shirts are now on sale. The shirts are light grey comfort color tshirt - long sleeve - cost  $13

    Beta Members will be collecting Socks for Soldiers and New Books for the Blair Batson Children’s Hospital during the months of October and November. Boxes are located outside Mrs. Flowers door.

    November is a very important month for you to attend school. Please help us out with your attendance.   We want to get another reward for good attendance so make sure you are here!.  We are in this race so let’s keep our attendance up!

    All checkout notes are to be turned in by 8:30 to the attendance office, emails are not accepted.

    Students:  If you purchase an item from the second chance breakfast during break,  your lunch account is charged at regular price even if you receive free or reduced lunches.

    Due to buses being filled to capacity, students will only be allowed to ride their normally assigned bus until further notice. 
    FCA meets every Thursday in Coach Cooley's room during break

     Seniors, be sure to get your $100 Senior fees paid.  Those can be paid to Ms. Pittman or Ms. Shumock.  Checks should be made out to SHS and you can pay in installments.  They should be paid in full by December 5th.
    Students please make sure you get everything out of your  car before you enter the building.
    Students:  Check out your ICAP in Active Student.  It shows you the courses you've taken and need to take in an easy to read colorful format.  Parents you may also see your students ICAP in Active Parent.  If you do not have an ICAP please see Mrs. Terri Pierce or Mrs. Carol Moree.  Below is an example of an ICAP in Active Student.
